Call for Papers/Abstracts

The 4th International Student Conference (ISC) in Cairo, sponsored by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS), is organized by students and intended to be a scientific gathering for the students in biomedical engineering and healthcare with a main theme “Integration of the recent biomedical trends for cost-effective healthcare solutions in developing countries”. The conference to be held at Cairo University on 16-17 November.

The Conference will focus on the following topics: 

  1. Biomedical Signal Processing
  2. Biomedical Imaging and Image Processing
  3. Neural and Rehabilitation Engineering
  4. Biomedical and Health Informatics

Conference participants are invited to submit:

  • Original, short paper (4 pages) written in English, and submitted electronically, and/or
  • An abstract (max. 2 pages) for a poster presentation.

The ISC will include plenary/invited talks, scientific presentation sessions, and poster presentations. The conference aims to motivate students to share and publicize their projects and research findings in the form of scientific paper or poster. We encourage contributions that either employ existing techniques to solve new problems or contributions that work on solving established problems by improved or new techniques. The authors in ISC conferences are typically outstanding students that are enthusiast to be involved in the research and development in the biomedical engineering as well as the senior students who are finalizing their graduation projects and wish to experience the process of scientific publishing.
